Syed Hasan
President, Library Sales, Springer Science + Business Media
Syed Hasan, president of sales, has been with Springer for 10 years and is responsible for all sales activities in the Americas.
Hasan is originally from England, where he qualified as a chartered management accountant and worked in various management roles in the software industry. He moved to New York in 1997 to join his wife, who works as a mathematics publishing editor at Springer. In 1998, he was named director, business development for the newly formed eMedia group within Springer that focuses on development of the electronic journals business. In 2004 after the merger with Kluwer Academic, he was appointed vice president, library sales, continuing to manage sales of electronic products to libraries in the Americas, including developing sales of ebooks. Hasan was appointed president, STM Global Sales, in 2007 and is also a member for the STM executive board.
